From 2D to 3D

For a year or so now LM has been seeing Dada as a 2D 8×10 Ipad. She would laugh with him, talk to him, she knew who he was. So when the time came that Dada was finally coming home I knew it would be an adjustment but there is never a way to predict exactly how much of one I was in for.

SCM returned home on Sunday! YAY! And as we sat at the airport at zero dark thirty (nearly 11pm) she was ecstatic. Running around, yelling for Dada. Happy.

However once Dada actually arrived home, she wanted nothing to do with him. He couldn’t touch or talk to her. I am sure there will be more than one photo (we had a photographer take homecoming photos and we don’t have them back yet) that will show her complete “anti – Dada” attitude.

The next morning we got up and she was still eye balling him with skepticism.

Every time he would touch her things she would scream “NO” or “GO”. She was having none of Dada.

While today she is still rather hit or miss on what Dada can do she is getting better. I am sure in no time she will be a complete Dada’s girl!

She did finally let him hold her while I was at my work meeting. Baby Steps.

As for the rest of the family – we were very thrilled SCM was home!

Harley was beyond excited!

And I am very happy to have my partner in crime back under the same roof, even if it means my schedule is different and I have relinquish some control. 😉

So now we are onto a whole new set of challenges and fun life adventures!

  1. Congrats! My husband just got back about four weeks ago, and my little one was kind of reluctant at times too! She still thinks I have to do everything, but she’s coming around! 🙂

    • Thank you! Congrats to you as well. LM is coming around pretty well. Almost a week now ( wow that is crazy to think) and she will have all weekend with him so I think she will be quite the Daddy’s girl when I get back from my work weekend. 😀
